It does not cause much harm and most people have slight vomiting sensation during morning sickness. This can be seen in pregnant women as early as the 1st month of pregnancy and continues till the 4th month of pregnancy. In most cases it will slow down after the fifth month of pregnancy.

Causes and remedy for morning sickness

The exact cause for morning sickness during pregnancy is not yet known and an increase in the hormone called estrogen may be one of the reasons for this problem. During pregnancy there will be an increase in progesterone which will relax the muscles in the uterus. This is a natural phenomenon, but it will also relax the acids in the intestines and stomach, leading to morning sickness. Also during pregnancy, there is an increase in the sensitivity towards smell which can cause nausea.

Even though morning sickness cannot be completely avoided, there are few methods by which you can reduce the impact of this problem. The most important thing to do during pregnancy is to avoid going on an empty stomach. You should also make it a point to eat at regular intervals and not leave too much between two meals. You should also avoid fried food as much as possible, because the greasy food will take a long time to digest. You should also not lie down immediately after eating and walk for some time. Too much of tension can also lead to an imbalance in the acid levels which can lead to morning sickness.
